• Full-Time National Servicemen (NSFs)
• Operationally Ready National Servicemen (NSmen)
• Regulars (Full-time, Part-time and Contract Service) servicemen in the:
  • MINDEF / SAF [including Defence Executive Officers (DXOs)]
  • Singapore Police Force (SPF)
  • Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF)
  • Singapore Prison Service (SPS)
  • Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB)
  • Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA)
• Public Officers working with MINDEF or MHA
• Volunteers:
  • SAF Volunteer Corps (SAF VC)
  • NS Volunteers (or equivalent)
  • Reservist On Voluntary Extended Reserve Service (ROVERS)
  • SPF Volunteer Special Constabulary (VSC)
  • SCDF Civil Defence Auxiliary Unit (CDAU)

Affiliate Members

• Employee (Full-time, Part-time and Contract Service) of the Authority-affiliated entities including:
  • Defence Science & Technology Agency (DSTA)/DSTA-affiliated entity
  • MINDEF-related Organisations (MROs)
  • MHA-related Organisation

If you do not belong to the above group or because you have been posted to MINDEF Reserve, the following statutory age would apply:

Specialist rank and below: Age 40

Officers and key appointment holder: Age 50

Yes. Your children from birth and your adopted/stepchildren (the relationship must be substantiated legally) are eligible to take up MINDEF & MHA Group Insurance provided you are eligible to apply as the main insured person or have an existing MINDEF & MHA Group Term Life or/and Group Personal Accident policy. Your children must be below the age of 25 at next birthday and are unmarried. 

No, you can't. MINDEF & MHA Group Insurance is under one contract. You can either choose MINDEF Group Insurance Scheme or MHA Group Insurance Scheme.

Group Term Life pays in the event of Death, Total Permanent Disablement or Advance Payment Benefit but not for hospitalisation expenses. However, this insurance does pay daily hospital cash benefit, for continuous hospital confinement starting from the 11th day of the hospitalisation (up to a maximum of 30 days per hospital stay).

Your coverage will commence within 5 working days upon receipt of an application if the health declaration is acceptable by the underwriters. However, if there is a medical issue and further medical evidence(s) is/are required, it would take longer, depending on when the applicant can furnish the evidence to support his application.
